- ➤ Tyler’s 37th Cattle Baron’s Ball is set for this Saturday at Texas Rose Horse Park to raise money for the American Cancer Society, with over 800 guests expected for a country-themed night featuring pig races, live auctions and a special performance by Wade Bowen. VIP guests will begin arriving at 6 p.m. while general admission starts at 7 p.m. (Hall Buick GMC is also offering a truck raffle). Tyler Morning Telegraph
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A federal lawsuit filed by Timothy Randall’s mother alleges that Sgt. Shane Iverson violated her son's constitutional rights during a traffic stop in Turnertown (Timothy Randall, age 29, was fatally shot on Sept. 14th, 2022). Representatives set a trial for May 18th, 2026 to allow more time for discovery (mediation is to be completed by Dec. 1st, 2026). CBS19

- ➤ A local cattle farmer said he fears losing his land because a planned East Texas water project may change water rules — he worries the changes could hurt his ranch. CBS19

- ➤ A federal judge denied Turn Key Health's request to dismiss a wrongful death lawsuit by the family of D'Vonte Valentine, a 24-year-old inmate who died on Dec. 4 after not receiving the steroid medications he needed. The suit alleges negligence by the healthcare provider and county officials and seeks a jury trial for damages — keeping the case alive. CBS19
