- ➤ Tyler Rotary clubs will host the annual Rose City Christmas Parade themed 'Unite for Good' on Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. along a new route around the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium, drawing families, local businesses and volunteers as they collect donations for the East Texas Food Bank—a result of nearly a year of volunteer preparation. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On November 21, fifty high school students attended the inaugural Future Leaders of Tyler session at the Career and Technology Center where local and state officials discussed public service skills and career paths. The yearlong pilot program—created by the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Tyler ISD and the Business Education Council—will offer monthly sessions to build leadership and networking skills. - ➤ Greg Grant, Ph.D.—a horticulturist at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Tyler—says fall is the best time to plant trees, shrubs and vegetables because the cool air and moist soil help new roots set before spring.
