Election DayTuesday, Nov. 3

If you're voting Tuesday, you can use any of 35 voting centers in Smith County, open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Anyone in line by 7 p.m. gets to vote. Elections Administrator Michelle Allcon estimates about 20,000 people will turn out.

  • Rain plan: lines move indoors where building space permits
  • : only for voters physically unable to go in
  • Curbside waits in early voting: 30 to 45 minutes at several sites
  • Curbside help: call (903) 590-4777 with site, car color, spot

Rain's in the forecast, so we suggest bringing a jacket and an umbrella. The ballot-marking devices aren't waterproof, so curbside service may be delayed during heavy downpours to keep paper ballots dry.

Libertarians Ted Brown and Pat Dixon are also on the ballot for U.S. Senate and governor. A full list of races runs through county offices.
