Good morning, Tyler.

Tyler horticulturist Greg Grant explained how marigolds guide spirits during Day of the Dead and symbolize the blend of Aztec and Catholic traditions in the Southwest—illustrating the deep cultural roots behind the celebration.

Residents in Tyler and the surrounding area gathered in downtown Tyler on Saturday to celebrate Dia de los Muertos with performances, vendors, art and offerings honoring loved ones who have passed away + colorful altars displayed bright yellow marigold flowers and photos.

The holiday marked the climax of three days of observance and brought the community together in a vivid celebration of life and remembrance.

Tyler High hosted a car and bike show (held on school grounds) to benefit its Tyler Lions Football Club (raising funds for the team).
