- ➤ The East Texas Center for Independent Living cut the ribbon at its new location in the Energy Center on W. Front Street in Tyler this past Friday morning—expanding services that include independent living skills training, peer support, advocacy, and professional counseling for about 600 clients a year. - ➤ UT Tyler is hosting its annual trunk-or-treat event in partnership with the East Texas Crisis Center to give families a safe way to trick-or-treat—children can enjoy Halloween traditions in a secure setting—while the school supports community safety. CBS19

- ➤ Today, downtown Tyler is under an active construction project that has closed East Elm Street between Spring Avenue and Broadway Avenue through Friday for capacity improvements under a Consent Decree—drivers are urged to use alternate routes. On Nov 8th, Broadway Avenue, Spring Avenue, Ferguson, and Locust Streets will close from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.—a business will coordinate a helicopter operation with a 100-foot safety buffer.
