  • Across East Texas, communities united for National Night Out to build trust and honor first responders — strengthening bonds with local law enforcement. The event brought residents together with local officers for community engagement.  CBS19
  • On Monday morning, All Saints Episcopal School held an assembly where students waved American flags and chanted 'U-S-A!' to honor visiting veterans from the Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation (founded in Tyler in 2007) while receiving a video message from Rep.   • Southern Utilities said that a 3-inch pipeline leak along Dixie Road near County Road 1143—causing a water outage in South Tyler on Oct. 2—was fixed by repair crews who worked for 3 to 4 hours and flushed the line so that water service is now restored.  CBS19

  • Caldwell Zoo in Tyler was awarded a top honor by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums for its 'See more. Learn more. Do more' marketing campaign—the zoo used social media, local press, signage and community partnerships to build interest for the upcoming Amazon River’s Edge exhibit.   • Smith County officials celebrated the $28 million economic boost from the East Texas State Fair that drew 104,000 visitors—generating nearly $995,000 in sales tax revenue.  CBS19

  • Texas leaders and community members gathered Friday at the Tyler Chamber of Commerce office when Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock and Director Will Counihan unveiled the new TexStats Regional Data Dashboard—this free tool displays live demographic and economic data to help schools, businesses and local governments make informed decisions.
