  • Tyler and Longview are competing in the second annual Spread the Love Drive to collect peanut butter jars for the East Texas Food Bank during Hunger Action Month—jars will be collected until Sept. 25 and the winner will be announced on Sept. 29.  Tyler Morning Telegraph
  • Andy Bergfeld said the Bergfeld legacy lives on in Tyler through real estate projects, downtown revitalization, and the historic Bergfeld Park donated over a century ago — his family has long supported local growth and public services.   • Smith County Judge Neal Franklin announced his re-election campaign on Thursday from the rooftop of Venue One Eleven in downtown Tyler—where he highlighted his record in job creation, economic growth, and public safety ahead of the March primary.   • The First Baptist Academy Eagles beat the Grace Community School Cougars 42-35 in their Week 2 high school football game in Tyler — the win builds early season confidence for the team.  CBS19
  • Tyler Legacy beat Tyler High 48-21 in the 70th meeting of the Rose City Rivalry at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium, jumping to a 34-0 halftime lead and marking its first series win since 2022—trimming the overall record to 35-34-1.
