  • This weekend, East Texas hosts many events with Tyler featuring the Rose City Farmers Market at 221 S.   • An elderly disabled woman died in a mobile home fire in Lindale early Thursday morning.  CBS19
  • An East Texas woman died in a house fire in northern Smith County on September 4th—67-year-old Sherry Denise Jones was found dead in her mobile home after rescue crews responded to a 911 call, and investigators are checking the fire's cause.  Tyler Morning Telegraph

CRIME NEWS

  • A detective said Wednesday that Scotty Lee Goble gave different answers in his trial for killing the taqueria co-owner Heriberto Eddie Ramirez, who was shot in the parking lot last October—defense lawyers questioned how the detective handled the case.  Tyler Morning Telegraph
  • Tyler authorities charged Scotty Lee Goble with murder in connection with the death of Eddie Ramirez at a local taqueria—state prosecutors will present their final witness in the trial.  CBS19

CULTURE NEWS

  • The 13th annual Tyler Film Festival will be held at Liberty Hall theatre next weekend where 22 short films by local and international makers will be shown over two nights—doors open at 5 p.m. and films start at 6 p.m.—followed by filmmaker Q&A and an awards ceremony.  Tyler Morning Telegraph
