  • Tyler City Council approved zoning changes on Wednesday that let BJ’s Wholesale Club move ahead with plans for a 104,000-square-foot wholesale store—located near South Broadway Avenue and West Cumberland Road.   • Scotty Lee Goble, from Corsicana, is on trial for the murder of Heriberto 'Eddie' Ramirez Jr., 38, who died in the parking lot of Junior’s Taqueria in Tyler — trial day three featured key testimonies and legal arguments.  CBS19
  • Testimony continued Thursday morning in a Tyler murder trial for Scotty Lee Goble, who is accused of shooting restaurant co-owner Heriberto 'Eddie' Ramirez Jr.—jurors viewed police body camera video showing family and witness reactions as the defense questioned police actions following Ramirez's killing at Junior’s Taqueria last October.  Tyler Morning Telegraph

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, the Smith County Commissioners Court approved the final sale of road bonds that raised $20 million—at a fixed interest rate of 4.19%—to improve 283 miles of county roads, building on a $45 million bond package approved by voters in November 2021.
