LIFESTYLE NEWS
- ➤ Neil from Sperry Gardens advised homeowners that nandina plants pruned into squares can be salvaged by cutting nearly all growth to 1 to 2 inches in January or early February and applying an all-nitrogen fertilizer to stimulate new shoot growth—he also warned that pecan trees with falling bark and green lichens may signal weak or dead branches. He further recommended avoiding ash trees because of Emerald Ash Borers—advising deep watering and mulching for beautyberries and prompt pruning of Sunshine ligustrums to keep them variegated.
