EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UT Tyler School of Medicine welcomed its third class of 40 students during a White Coat Ceremony held on July 30 in which UT Health East Texas presented white coats and Humanism in Medicine pins. Dr. Sue Cox said the new class — 90% of whom have East Texas ties — showed strong commitment to serving the region. Tyler Morning Telegraph

- ➤ Between July 17 and 24, permits were issued that include a commercial remodel at 3943 Old Jacksonville Hwy valued at $2,791,510 by Heitkamp Swift Architects, a commercial addition at 5403 S Broadway Ave for $895,000 by Richmond Group, and a commercial remodel at 1409 E 5th St valued at $1,971,532 by Jacobe Brothers Const.
