- ➤ The Texas African American Museum will host a Community Servant’s Roast on Saturday to honor Tyler-area leaders Rosie 'Bowie' Johnson, Charles 'Earl' Booker, Norma 'Arps' Kennedy, Petra Hawkins and Judge Derrick C. Choice Sr with hosts LaTonia Gaston-Bell and Michael Bell Jr leading the event from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Veretta and Jesse E. Rider Fine and Performing Arts Centre — located inside the museum at 309 W. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 17-year-old was pronounced dead after being ejected from his car in a rollover crash on the 97 blk. of Pleasant Hollow Rd in Smith County — deputies said the crash followed a high-speed chase on July 20th at 1:36 a.m. where his car was clocked at 124 mph. Tyler Morning Telegraph
- ➤ Bricks fell from the side of the old Carlton Hotel parking garage on July 24th, causing Elm Street to close while officials and NORF Companies examine the building for further hazards — drivers are asked to use detours near the site. Tyler Morning Telegraph
- ➤ Emergency crews responded in Smith County to a major crash where an eighteen wheeler blocked all westbound lanes on I-20 just west of state Hwy. 155—traffic is being diverted onto Hwy. 155 and backed up to US Hwy. 271. CBS19

- ➤ Police arrested a man accused of murdering a Tyler business owner & he was found without his ankle monitor during his most recent arrest. CBS19
- ➤ Scotty Lee Goble of Corsicana was charged with tampering with his electronic monitoring device during his last arrest while facing trial for murdering Tyler taqueria owner Heriberto 'Eddie' Ramirez, who was shot on Oct. 11 in the parking lot of Junior’s Taqueria + both the state and defense remain on track for an Aug. 25 trial.
