- ➤ Cumberland Academy in Tyler named Dr. Jo Ann Simmons as the lone finalist for the superintendent position—she brings over 20 years of education experience including 12 years as a superintendent at UT Tyler University Academy—and the school will host a town hall meet and greet at 6 p.m. Thursday while a 21-day waiting period is observed before officially naming her.
