  • Retired Green Acres Baptist Church senior pastor David Dykes, 72, died Wednesday at his Tyler home after a 30-year ministry that included leading mission teams internationally. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 at the church on Troup Hwy and the family asks for prayers and privacy.  Tyler Morning Telegraph

  • Tyler local Billy McKellar was killed in a massive I-20 crash that claimed several lives+ officials are investigating the cause.  CBS19
  • An explosion at a fireworks warehouse left seven people missing and emergency crews are working to locate survivors — officials say more details will be available soon.  CBS19

  • U.S. Rep. Moran spoke today about the passing of longtime Pastor Dr. David O. Dykes—he honored the pastor’s many years of service to the community—stating that his work has touched many lives in Tyler.  CBS19

  • A specialty center in Tyler is offering support for people with Williams syndrome by providing specialized care and community programs — the center hopes to improve treatment and help local families manage this rare condition.  CBS19
