- ➤ Tyler police responded to a disturbance call at a home in the Cascades neighborhood on Thursday night and shot John Augustine Tangney O'Kelly, 38+ he was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead as the Texas Rangers took over the investigation. Tyler Morning Telegraph

- ➤ Gamma Omicron Omega of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will host the annual Denim and Pearls Gala at the W.T. - ➤ Fatima Ali—recent Early College High School valedictorian—was chosen in May to receive a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood after being nominated by Chapter BO of Tyler. She will attend the University of Texas at Austin this fall to study biochemistry. Tyler Morning Telegraph

- ➤ East Texas officials are pushing back against a proposed water project—saying they need further reviews before the permit deadline expires. They raised concerns about the project's compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. CBS19
- ➤ Tyler Animal Control and Shelter is offering no-cost adoptions for dogs and cats in June in exchange for a donation of 12 fleece blankets — the blankets will support shelter animals or be given to local organizations.
