- ➤ Meals on Wheels East Texas has enough pet food to last nearly six months but is now short on dog food and is asking for monetary donations or unopened bags of dry dog food—donations can be dropped off at its Tyler headquarters on 3001 Robertson Road. The program supports over 300 dogs and 200 cats and helps ensure seniors can keep their pets without sacrificing their own meals. Tyler Morning Telegraph
- ➤ Today, the East Texas Food Bank kicked off its summer food program—providing food assistance to local residents throughout the summer. CBS19

- ➤ The 37th annual Tyler Cattle Baron's Ball will be held this weekend in Tyler—official details about timing and activities have not yet been released. CBS19
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at UT Tyler University Academy built a butterfly garden to study pollinators and native plants after recent graduate Sara Pierson started a GLOBE research project. Renovations began last spring but a recent freeze wiped out several plants—staff are now replacing them with native species. Tyler Morning Telegraph
- ➤ Chapel Hill ISD announced three new leaders for the upcoming 2025–26 school year—Bethanie Primeaux as principal of Kissam Intermediate School, Amelia Chavez as principal of Jackson Elementary School and Chris Blake as executive director of operations. Primeaux brings 22 years of education experience including six years in administration from Tyler Legacy High while Chavez and Blake offer solid backgrounds from Tyler ISD, Whitehouse ISD and 25 years in education respectively.
