- ➤ Wade Bowen will headline the 37th annual Tyler Cattle Baron's Ball at Texas Rose Horse Park on June 7, with VIP ticket holders entering at 6 p.m. and general admission beginning at 7 p.m.—the event will offer live music, dancing, and a special on-stage auction to support the American Cancer Society. - ➤ After a fire in June 2024, Rivers Recycling confirmed it will not rebuild its Kilgore facility because high equipment costs and steel tariffs made the project unsustainable. This decision leaves cities like Tyler, Bullard, and Whitehouse without curbside recycling, and Longview will restart services with NETX processing — a tentative restart is set for June 2. - ➤ On Sunday, the Texas House approved Senate Bill 12 that will ban DEI policies and programs in public schools by restricting hiring decisions and training unless required by federal law, and it mandates written parental consent for club participation.
