- ➤ After a fire in June 2024, Rivers Recycling confirmed it will not rebuild its Kilgore facility because high equipment costs and steel tariffs made the project unsustainable. This decision leaves cities like Tyler, Bullard, and Whitehouse without curbside recycling, and Longview will restart services with NETX processing — a tentative restart is set for June 2. - ➤ On Sunday, the Texas House approved Senate Bill 12 that will ban DEI policies and programs in public schools by restricting hiring decisions and training unless required by federal law, and it mandates written parental consent for club participation.
