GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fallen law enforcement officers were honored at the Tyler-Smith County Police Officer Memorial in Tyler to remember their service and sacrifice—local officials and community members attended the event.  CBS19
  • Bullard ISD’s new middle school is delayed until January due to water, sewer, and gas service issues – the district says the delay stems from the city not issuing permits while the city says it is waiting on design plans and easement agreements from the district. Officials at a recent board meeting discussed the required utility work, and both sides remain committed to resolving the matter as quickly as possible.  Tyler Morning Telegraph
  • On Wednesday Tyler held a Peace Officers Memorial Service at Downtown Square to honor fallen officers including Eugene Vickers, and Gina Richardson walked in tribute to his sacrifice. Tyler Police Chief Jimmy Toler said the ceremony—featuring taps played, names read, and single-stem roses placed on a memorial wreath—reflected the community's ongoing respect and commitment to those who served.  Tyler Morning Telegraph
