  • The Women in Tyler Committee hosted its annual luncheon at the Grove Kitchen and Gardens last Thursday to honor six women who inspire the community—Yvonne Atkins, Lisa Ellis, Kimberly Lewis, Kay Pleasant and Suzy Shepherd, with Barbara Bass also receiving the Judith K. Guthrie Legacy of Service Award. Over 200 attendees were present and Mayor Don Warren proclaimed March 20 as Women in Tyler Day.  Tyler Morning Telegraph

  • A family in Tyler is campaigning for a law called Audrii’s Law—designed to change how sex offenders are handled—to reform local policies. They plan to meet with lawmakers and hold events to gather support for the change.  CBS19

  • Local businessman Dos Rossouw will repay $150,000 to the White Oak Economic Development Corp. by Dec. 31 in a lawsuit settlement over a failed plan to develop new businesses on a 13-acre tract along U.S. 80 near South Hollingsworth Street—resolving a dispute that started after his project collapsed due to high interest rates and low investor interest.  Longview News-Journal
